DEPARTMENTAL DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Creative Team is responsible for setting creative strategy and delivering design solutions for DaySpring marketing materials across a portfolio of businesses, with strong focus on digital and direct-to-consumer platforms and channels. Key areas of focus are marketing collateral, advertising and promotional campaigns, product and lifestyle photography, website and UX design, and digital content.
 
GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION

As a member of the marketing creative team, the Designer, Digital UI/UX is responsible for a range of creative efforts that support a variety of business and marketing initiatives across all digital platforms. This role will design industry-leading and highly effective user experiences for site enhancements, website redesigns, landing pages, microsites, interactive content and various other digital initiatives. The Designer, Digital UI/UX works closely with the sr. Creative Director, development team, and key stakeholders through all stages of a project to understand and deliver solutions that meet business needs, UX goals and technical requirements. High ownership and design leadership are important qualities, as this role will work with high-visibility consumer-facing properties that directly impact short and long-term business goals such as conversion rate, email list growth, etc. The Designer, Digital UI/UX is a key creative partner to our digital marketing, merchandising, and technology teams and will strive to bring strong visual theme and brand consistency throughout all creative work.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. UI/UX Design: Design industry-leading and highly effective user interfaces for site enhancements, website redesigns, landing pages, microsites, interactive content and various other digital initiatives. Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, UX goals and technical requirements. Interface and actively engage with development team through all stages of project to deliver final product.

2. Wireframing & Prototyping: Engage in iterative process with project leads and other members of a project team. Create low-fidelity wireframes and/or rough prototypes in order to achieve alignment on key functional requirements of a project before moving forward to high-fidelity design process.

3. Lead UI/UX research and extract learnings to apply in design process.

4. Marketing & Merchandising Creative: Design creative solutions for marketing email, website merchandising, digital content, usability enhancements, social media and various other business needs. Demonstrate high ownership and a commitment to forward-thinking design solutions that build brand-consistency while exuding quality and creativity.

5. Technical Design: Collaborate with development team, representing design during late stages of website projects, ensuring brand and user experience are strong across all devices and applications. Seek and give feedback as a project is tested and refined in preparation for launch.

6. Develop, grow and perpetuate a knowledge of trends, colors and design in the digital marketing industry, as well as UI/UX standards and best practices.

7. Actively participate in meetings and dialogue with larger digital team.

8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
You must have these to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 or more years of experience in an interactive design-related field
  • Submitted portfolio

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Foundational understanding of design, typography, color and trends
  • Ecommerce experience
  • Familiar and comfortable using Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe XD
  • Demonstrates initiative & pursues excellence
  • Coachable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Understanding and alignment with DaySpring culture
