We work hard, but also have fun doing it!

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The three primary responsibilities for this job are proofreading, editing copy for mistakes, and entering data into the editorial database.  These all require a high level of detail and accuracy.  Most of the interaction will be within the Editorial department, although there will be some interaction with Designers and Production Designers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 
You must have this to be considered for this role:

  • Currently be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program with an expected graduation date of 2022 or 2023 (priority placed on applicants with an earlier graduation date).

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Your resume will stand out if you have these:

  • Major in Communications or English/Journalism and attending college in Northwest Arkansas, Northeast Oklahoma or Southwest Missouri
  • Exceptional level of detail and accuracy orientation.
  • Strong language skills. Candidates will be required to demonstrate through spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proofreading assessments. All assessments will be given at the time of scheduled interview.
  • Project management/deadline – driven orientation
  • An understanding of and appreciation for the DaySpring mission

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

This paid internship ($12/hour) begins in September 2021, and is budgeted for 10-20 hours per week (M-F). Once fully trained in the job, a flexible, hybrid (mix of home/office) work schedule is available.
