DaySpring Production Designer

We are a group of tight-knit, dedicated professionals who find pride in our work. We perfect files for production and serve as subject matter experts to our cross-functional partners by influencing the product development and creative processes. Our team touches every product file created at DaySpring.

 

The general purpose of the Production Designer position is to send perfect files to our vendors. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
  2. Package and preflight files for release to printers or media partners. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
  3. Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Designers, and Project Leaders. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
  4. Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolve any artwork issues that arise during production. This duty is performed weekly, about 20% of the time.
  5. Provide image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.  
  6. Create PDFs for print and client review. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.
  7. Follow a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time.  This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
  8. Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative team and the printer. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.
  9. Prepare images for online and mobile applications. This duty is performed yearly, less than 5% of the time.
  10. Catalog and reference art for future projects. This duty is performed yearly, less than 5% of the time.
  11. Other reasonably related duties as assigned
     

REQUIREMENTS:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. 2 or more years of Academic or Professional experience using the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  3. Portfolio submission (a link to online portfolio is preferable) 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Studio Art, Ceramics.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Design Software
  • Mastery in Photoshop, Illustrator, Visual Communication Design, Ceramics
  • Intermediate in PowerPoint, Keynote, Word, Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Aptitude for pulling meaning and direction from data. Capability to handle large data sets and to have a knack at boiling them down to meaningful direction that drives action and success
  • Understanding of and appreciation for the DaySpring mission
