GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This position is responsible for ensuring that the right people with the right skills in the right number are available at the right time to meet strategic objectives. The incumbent will develop strategies, tactics and programs needed to get, grow, and keep top talent and build a culture that fosters creativity, faith, and fun with fully engaged individuals and teams.

 

The role is responsible for the delivery of people programs that insure we achieve our vision and financial commitments. The role services as the primary gatekeeper of the company culture responsible for building, retaining, and transferring to the next generation of employees the core values and operating principles that make DaySpring distinctive and successful in our market niche. At the same time, the incumbent will oversee all aspects of the HR function to ensure compliance with Hallmark policies and governmental laws and regulations. The position has the added responsibility for leading the facilities function for the company. This entails facilities planning, oversight of new construction and ongoing upkeep of all locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Strategic HR Planning. Serve as a critical business partner to insure that people programs and activities support strategic direction and deliver the talent needed by the organization to meet our business and ministry objectives. This duty is performed about 15% of the time.
  2. Talent Acquisition & Management. Develop and execute staffing strategies to acquire the right people across all functions and work groups. Lead the succession planning process to insure we are developing new leaders and prepared for growth. Oversee the Performance management system to link individual employee results to company performance. This duty is performed about 20% of the time.
  3. Benefits Design and Administration. Oversee the design and deployment of all company benefit programs. Design cost effective benefits that the company can continue to afford over time. Work with TPA, AON and others to ensure that our health plan is competitive and affordable. This duty is performed about 15% of the time.
  4. Total Compensation. Design and administer all pay programs including base pay, incentive pay and team rewards. Develop compensation plans, communication program and metrics to provide a direct line of sight for employees to company objectives and results. Conduct market studies to assess competitive position and adjust our approaches appropriately based on this information. Pay for performance, variable pay, and team pay are all approaches of significance to DaySpring. This duty is performed about 15% of the time.
  5. Organization Development. Oversee the training and development of staff. Design programs and identify methods and/or vendors to deliver the training for leaders and employees that grow skills and build our intellectual capital. This area also includes organizational design to meet our growth objectives in a significantly more complex, global business environment. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
  6. Employee Relations. Promote positive employee relations across the company. Oversees the resolution of employee relations issues. Insures the compliance with laws and regulations as it pertains to goals, plans and programs. This duty is performed about 15% of the time.
  7. Facilities. Oversee renovations and upkeep of current campus locations. Work with vendors and Hallmark regarding facilities planning and future requirements. Assures code of local, state and federal regulations are followed for EHS resulting in a safe and secure establishment. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
You must have these to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 10 or more years of experience in HR and/or corporate leadership
  • 5 or more years of management experience

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
  • The ability to counsel, motivate, and guide HR staff and managers of other departments to accomplish an organization's goals and objectives.
  • Know-how of HRMS (Human Resource Management System) and/or HRIS (Human Resource Information System) software.
  • Strong budgeting skills to efficiently manage HR finances and resources.
  • Knowledge of local and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Flexibility to improve and adapt to the needs and demands of the organization.
  • Training and development skills to attract, retain, and maximize employee performance.
  • An understanding of and an appreciation for the DaySpring mission.
