The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the production equipment.  This role also coordinates or completes general facility maintenance repairs or changes.

 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

  • Repair and maintain machinery in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and craft codes by replacing belts, repairing or installing electrical wiring and hydraulic lines.  
  • Respond to requests from Operations manager, supervisors or operators.
  • Assist with designing/ building/installing machine guarding and other safety requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery controlled by Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and A/C Freq Drive systems.  Be proficient at electronics, reading and interpreting electronic schematics and wiring ladder logic
  • Diagnose, evaluate and schedule repair and/or preventative maintenance of all office machinery.
  • Create and follow preventative maintenance schedule for all operational and office equipment.
  • Support and coordinate changes to equipment or facility to comply with regulations as identified by monthly EHS inspections.
  • Perform general building maintenance repairs: plumbing, general carpentry, painting, drywall repair, locks, cubicle maintenance, warehouse racking, basic roof/building inspections and repairs along with preventative maintenance work.
  • Walkway snow and ice inspection and removal, as needed.
  • Perform basic utility connections and repair of pneumatic and hydraulics.
  • Coordinate inspection of heating and air conditioning equipment, sprinkler systems and fire protection devices to ensure proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC & Air Systems or coordinate facility support services on HVAC and air systems, when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, productive work environment. Ensure compliance of all regulatory obligations for EHS.  Maintain a healthy team culture that clearly reflects our corporate beliefs and values. 
  • Prompt and accurate handling of administrative procedures and responsibilities.  Duties could include supporting manager in budget development, Lean manufacturing, or capital proposals.
  • Create and maintain strong internal department and external contractor relationships

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a maintenance technician, warehouse, technician, or similar
  • Available to work up to 12 hours per day as needed
  • Able to work weekends as needed
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification within 8 weeks

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing or operating mechanical equipment and or certified maintenance technicial
  • Comfortable following established safety procedures for wearing PPE, lock/and tagout, and handling hazardous chemicals. 
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, repairing, reworking hydraulic and pneumatic systems. 
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics
  • Experience utilizing common electrical and electronic test equipment
  • Electronics Technician Certification
  • Basic computer skills
  • Forklift certification but will be required to pass HBC forklift certification
  • DOT certification
