As a QA Automation Engineer, you will lead and perform the necessary actions related to managing existing, creating new, and executing automated test suite(s).  This role is project-oriented, creative and driven to bring the highest quality solutions to the table.  You will be working closely with development teams as they develop code to ensure requirements are adhering to the highest quality levels available.  This role will own and conduct automated (and manual tests where necessary) to ensure the software created is fit for purpose. During testing, you will be thinking “outside of the box” to understand the various scenarios and configurations that customers use to ensure customer quality is maintained, and through doing so, drive automated and/or regression testing across the products. You will be responsible for defining and driving innovative automated testing strategies and toolsets into HBCs overall development processes that support and enhance the current practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Building and executing automated test platforms using HBCs automated test suite and working within continuous delivery / continuous release pipeline processes
  • Experience mentoring QA staff quality objectives and testing processes in regards to automated testing
  • Use appropriate measures and KPIs to validate and report on software quality
  • Be a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional ‘exception handling’ outside of expected functionality workflow if needed
  • Have the drive to become an expert in:
    • UX Testing
    • UI Testing
    • Integration testing of APIs
    • Performance and scalability testing
    • Security Penetration Testing
  • Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them
  • Be meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all automated test suites
  • Informing, enable, review and report automation status in regards to project performance
  • Provide strategies for test improvement initiatives and efficiency increases, especially within the Automation Engineering discipline

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of working in QA automation
  • Minimum 3 years SDLC in agile development environments
  • Minimum 3 years writing, executing and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies ex: SauceLabs, Selenium, and IMarcros
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience bug tracking and test management toolsets to support development processes
  • Minimum 3 years working with databases such as SQL and Oracle in regards to test automation


  • Experience with web design/development and database concepts and techniques
  • Experience with coding enterprise applications within .NET
  • Experience with coding enterprise applications within Angular
  • Experience with SQL and Oracle database technologies
  • Experience in mobile and email services
  • Experience with TFS – Team Foundation Server
