The Customs Coordinator is responsible for ensuring Hallmark and its subsidiaries meet all customs requirements.  Responsibilities may vary based upon specific customs support needs, such as  classification of goods, valuation, country of origin, preparation of documents and record keeping.


Essential responsibilities include:


  • Collaborate with the classification team and relevant technical staff to ensure accurate import and export HTS classifications for product and fixture part numbers
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of export regulations, required shipping documentation, export licensing and tariff number classifications
  • Determine applicability of free trade agreements as defined by US customs and border protection, including navigating agreement specifics to the solicitation process for Hallmark suppliers
  • Oversee/monitor/assist in the preparation of required customs export documentation, including AES filings, (originating from the US to multiple global accounts) in a highly time sensitive environment from various data sources
  • Proactively manage compliance of complete and accurate export documentation, distribute and release, following established guidelines and procedures
  • Maintain records and audit export files for compliance
  • Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders and internal/global/distribution partners to ensure regulatory obligations and high customer service levels are met
  • Communicate effectively throughout the export process including quick response times for shipment inquiries and problem solving
  • Analyze, organize, assess, track, product related information necessary to comply with customs reporting requirements
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned within the Hallmark  Customs team



Global Transportation provides innovative transportation and global trade solutions that enable a flexible and efficient supply chain for the Hallmark family of companies.  We translate business requirements and utilize logistics industry best practices to develop optimized solutions for our evolving supply chain.  The Global Transportation team acts as a liaison between Hallmark business entities and transportation, import and export service providers to ensure business strategies are supported through execution.  We are accountable for transportation execution and the financial impact of our expenditures, while ensuring Hallmark's commitment to regulatory, social and ethical responsibility.

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years professional work experience
  • Experience with other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint)

  • 2+ years working with an Importer, Freight Forwarder OR Customs   
  • Brokerage Firm
  • Experience working in relevant business area such as 
  • Procurement, Accounting, Tax and/or regulatory field
  • Experience working with the following:
  • Customs Harmonized Tariff Schedule
  • Government Agency Import/Export Regulations
  • International Trade Regulations
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal), great attitude
  • and team player
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and juggle many concurrent
  • activities
  • Equally skilled in the management of both strategic and tactical
  • related processes
