The Customer Analytics team under Category Solutions provides powerful consulting along with key reporting and insightful analyses to the Greetings business. We focus on using data to understand our category and customers, leveraging a vast amount of sources to our advantage. We focus on complete storytelling, from understanding what has happened in the past to conducting predictive analysis to understand the future. We are looking for motivated individuals who love exploring data to uncover hidden trends and developing new experiments and models to help drive the business.

We’re looking for people who not only love working with the data, but developing valuable business insights and want to see their work displayed in the retail marketplace.


  • Lead the Analytics: Serve as the key analytics consultant for the Walmart Seasonal Greetings customer team and serve in an integral role by leveraging data and analytical thought leadership to develop solutions and tactics for the customer team
  • Own the data: Be the expert of the Walmart Seasonal Greetings business and data sources, including how to best leverage advanced analytics, reporting, experimentation, and more to create data-driven solutions and strategies aimed to grow the Hallmark
  • Develop business insights: Summarize and monitor performance, uncover hidden trends, assess opportunities for growth and leverage data-driven insights and business acumen to create retail tactics for Hallmark
  • Communicate findings: Regularly present findings to Walmart customer team leadership and business customers, both internal and external, who have varying expertise in analytics and statistics
  • Innovate daily: Independently strive to make the business better every day by exploring the data and find new opportunities to drive growth in Walmart

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Physics, Math, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, Social Sciences OR a quantitative field
  • 0-3 years of professional experience in an analytics, business and/or strategy role



Your resume and portfolio will stand out if you have:

  • Advanced Degree in one of the above fields
  • 2+ years of professional experience, preferably with a retail, consumer product goods and/or other marketplace company, using data to develop business strategy
  • Experience in at least one (1) statistical programming language (Python, R, Scala, Octave, SAS, MATLAB, etc.) and/or relational databases (SQL).
  • Experience with data visualization tools including Tableau, PowerBI, Dash, RShiny, D3.js, Microstrategy, etc.
  • Experience and/or training in basic to intermediate statistical methods, including descriptive statistics, predictive analysis,  data mining, etc.
  • Strong desire to explore various data sources to uncover hidden trends and opportunities for the organization
  • Ability to simplify large and complex problems to determined appropriate approaches and uncover data driven actionable insights
  • Proven track record of utilizing technical and business acumen to drive strategy and solutions.
  • Able to provide a GitHub or coding portfolio of prior data science, computer programming and statistical work and projects
  • Self-directed, detail & team oriented with highly developed problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with strong organizational, planning and interpersonal skills
