AN OVERVIEW:

The Digital Center of Excellence (DCOE) is the organization within Hallmark Technology that is responsible for: 

  • Building a world-class, consumer-focused caring platform that enables Hallmark’s lines of business (LOB) across the enterprise (Crayola, Crown Media, Hallmark Global) to accelerate their direct-to-consumer product strategies  
  • Developing a Cloud-first, multi-tenant digital platform that provides capabilities and services, such as a unified Hallmark Profile, Product Recommendations, Global Payment services, etc.  
  • Building, securing and operating digital consumer products for Hallmark’s LOBs 
  • Scaling development capabilities to build for Hallmark’s future 

 

As a member of the DCOE group you'll partner with high functioning, high energy teams of cross-functional disciplines that bring products like Hallmark.com and our Hallmark Gold Crown Omnichannel network to life for our consumers. With a consumer-first focus this group delivers impactful digital solutions that have a direct impact on consumer brand engagement and retention in the digital space, which results in revenue growth and brand relevance.

 WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Database Architect you’ll partner with Product and Delivery Managers and Software Architects to orchestrate building highly scalable and performant applications.  The DCOE Database Architect brings strong leadership and data technology solutions in driving design excellence, database standards and striving for continuous improvement.  You will be influential in the overarching technology choices for the program and be a guardian of a world-class customer experience. 

 

With a focus on the consumer, you will help Hallmark understand best practices around advanced hybrid / cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing solutions and processes to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of continuous integration, deployment, and process automation within Hallmark.  

 

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record at an enterprise level.  The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a database architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. 

 

 As a Data Architect focusing on consumer data and analytics, you will: 

 As a key member of the DCOE Architect team, ensure success in building and migrating databases and services from existing solutions into scalable, resilient, efficient, and secure solutions.   

  • Lead evaluating database technologies and solutions
  • Design database solutions for transactional and reporting needs
  • Deliver database infrastructure design, database conceptual and physical architecture
  • Design ETL architecture by understanding organizational requirements; auditing data sources and target systems; determining data enhancement and data hygiene needs. 
  • Data schema evaluation for both internal and external systems
  • Define and enforce data typing
  • Optimize and restructure data for optimal data load from source to target systems
  • Develop process improvements and efficiencies; focus on continuous improvement. 
  • Actively seek ways to build, challenge, and add value within scope of     assignments. 

 

 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or other related fields. 
  • 5+ years of experience as a database architect, including analysis, design, and development experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing ETL processes. 
  • 5+ years of working with data modeling tools. 
  • 2+years’ experience in cloud data platforms
  • 5+ years’ experience in data integration and engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in database architecture; transactional, relational and star schema
  • 5+ years’ experience in real-time data processing 
  • 5+ years’ experience in data analytics strategy
  • 5+ years’ experience in BI reporting and dashboard reporting with Tableau
  • 2+ years’ experience working with web-based technologies and microservices
  • Experience with end-to-end IT software and systems solution delivery from idea conception, design, development and transition into production operations and maintenance 
  • Experience with Agile methodologies 
  • Held a prior role with responsibility for high scalable/available systems architecture, security, and systems support in a heterogeneous infrastructure environment. 
  • Experience delivering Omnichannel technology solutions for a consumer facing retailer and/or CPG company

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume and application will stand out if you have:

  • Experience with DMP (Data Management Platform) and CMP (Consumer Management Platforms)
  • Consumer segmentation
  • Marketing attribution
  • Expertise with application architecture strategy, governance, compliance, development, and execution 
  • Experience working with SDLC 
  • Experience working with Cloud Hosting platforms such as Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure. 
  • Experience in designing using ORM tools for development
  • Experience with implementing disaster recovery, capacity planning, monitoring/alerting of availability/performance, log aggregation and event management systems for database systems.
