The Gift Presentation & Stationery studio is a fast-paced, creative environment responsible for developing unique and compelling product across multiple formats and for a variety of retailers. As a Gift Presentation designer, you’ll have the opportunity to create seasonal and everyday solutions ranging from gift wrap collections to stationery suites. If you have a desire to create beautiful products for the marketplace coupled with top-notch surface design, strong conceptual skills, an eye for color and trend, and a collaborative mindset, this is the spot to be!

 

The Gift Presentation Designer is responsible for creating effective product solutions targeted at the consumer. They will work on both large programs as well as individual stand-alone SKUs. They demonstrate an excellent understanding of designing with surface pattern, illustration, photography, and lettering, as well as how to build a cohesive collection of product. They are able to focus on all components of strong product design: concept, color, trend, surface pattern, and visual impact. They demonstrate strong digital and technical skills, innovative thinking, and are able to deliver on multiple programs/projects at a time. They must be a problem solver.

 

This is a progressive role at  either the professional or senior designer level , where the hiring team will determine which level to assign the selected candidate - based on their skills, experience and performance results.  

 

Requirements:

You must also attach a Portfolio to be considered. Your portfolio for Hallmark should show 5-10 digital images of your work. Accepted file types are PDF, JPG, or JPEG. Individual file size limit is 10 MB. Attachments together should total no more than 20MB in total file size. In addition, you may include a link to your online portfolio as a supplement to the images you upload.

 

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or 3 years of professional experience with a design studio
Proficient using Adobe CS programs (Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign)
 

Preferred Qualifications

Portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual skills, strong surface design skills, trend-focused color palettes, excellent aesthetic judgment, tasteful and diverse lettering solutions, warmth and/or emotion. 
Portfolio demonstrating the ability to build a cohesive collection of product.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work on and manage multiple projects with a range of complexity and shifting deadlines.
Collaborative and a strong team player
Flexible work style and ability to move forward without all of the answers
