The Enterprise Architecture Director is accountable for creating a future technology architecture blueprint that is tightly linked to Hallmark’s business strategy and ensures that all Information Technology initiatives are advancing the blueprint. This position will drive the acceptance and adherence to the technology strategy for all lines of business working with both Information Technology and the business to ensure compliance.  In addition, h/she will be accountable for the key architectural designs of critical business applications at Hallmark.

 

The Enterprise Architecture Director will establish, tailor, and evolve an enterprise architecture capability for Hallmark based on the industry-standard Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF). This capability will develop, use, and sustain the architecture of Hallmark’s technology systems. It will govern change, guiding Hallmark’s transformation through the gap between Hallmark’s current state and desired future state. This architecture will be a description of the enterprise that key people can understand, allowing them to make the decisions necessary to fulfill Hallmark’s goals, objectives, mission, and vision.

 

The scope of the enterprise is technology solutions for all of Hallmark’s business and brands including global greetings, Crayola, and Crown Media.  This person will interact with IT and IS senior leadership, select Hallmark executives and vendor partners. 

 

The Enterprise Architecture Director is responsible for architectures that support strategy, portfolios, projects, and solution delivery. He or she will serve as chair of Hallmark’s Architecture Review Board with accountability for all architecture governance processes across the enterprise. The Director will guide the development of an architecture repository of content that accelerates the development of architectures through re-use of architecture building blocks including principles, reference architectures, patterns, standards, and landscape descriptions across all architecture domains including business, information, and technology. The Director will guide the development of processes for the investigation of emerging technologies applicable to Hallmark businesses. The Director will align the processes and goals of architecture to work seamlessly with Hallmark’s project office and IT development and service management organizations, and information security.  The responsibilities include: 

 

  • Leading the EA Capability and its use to develop, maintain and govern the enterprise architecture across the organization. They are responsible for defining the EA process and architecture review and advisory process, and for leading the integration of those processes with related business and IT processes. 

 

  • Partnering with business leaders in Enabling their future-state business capabilities which drive targeted business outcomes through the prioritized projects, programs, projects and organizational initiatives. 

 

  • Researching technology trends by scanning the major disruptive technology and nontechnology landscape and recommending progressive and practical solutions that benefit the business.  

 

  • Leading and managing a team of architects (business, information, solution, technical, etc.) to drive business value and build strong architecture knowledge and skills across the architecture practice.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, system analysis or 4 years of equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in at least three IT disciplines, that could include: business, information, solution or technical architecture, integration solutions, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment
  • Minimum of 3 years application development experience, preferably on multiple platforms and toolsets
  • Minimum 3 years leading and building collaborative and autonomous high-performing work teams 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP ERP systems 
  • Enterprise Architecture certification
