The Enterprise Network & Communications Director will have accountability for the design and implementation of the components that enable connectivity across both our corporate and retail network. The successful candidate will effectively deliver the network that brings together the suite of applications, technologies, and infrastructure in a way that ensures secure, effective, and efficient use of our resources. The Network Leader will work closely with Information Security, Internal Audit, and key business partners to design the most appropriate solution(s) to help Hallmark operate securely in the execution of our business.  Together, the network leader and their team will build a sustainable network that provides a sound system of controls, in line with our information security strategy and recommendations and our corporate policy.  The responsibilities are far reaching in that the scope of area under management includes both our headquarters (which oversees North American operations) and our retail network. Key responsibilities include:


  • Preparation and dissemination of a strategic plan for the Hallmark network that is reviewed and revised at least annually.
  • Routine evaluation of our network infrastructure effectiveness in line with expected support of our retail and corporate business needs - including , required retail store technology changes, information security updates and requirements, and leading industry best practices,  and improvements or efficiencies driven by introducing new methodologies.
  • Establish and measure performance metrics that align with industry best practices and provide the most optimum solutions for our business.
  • Lead a small staff of technical experts through project and support assignments. This includes establishing objectives, giving timely feedback and coaching, along with providing annual performance reviews.

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent IT work experience 
  • 10 or more years managerial experience implementing, maintaining and troubelshooting a converges IP network
  • 10 or more years as Cisco-certified CCNA engineer 
  • 8 or more years of experience managing a network engineering team with 24×7 operational responsibility  
  • 5 or more years of experience in large, complex organization or corporate structured environment 

  • 5 or more years of  demonstrated team leadership success - using a data-driven analytical approach to guide and  solve complex challenges  

  • 5 or more years of experience on a service provider network in engineering or operations roles  

  • 2 or more years of experience with SD-WAN Solutions 

  • 2 or more years of experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Switching/Routing/ ASA, Checkpoint/Firepower Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers and Blue Coat Proxies 



  • ITIL Foundation v3 Certification or higher 
  • Understanding and familiarity with network automation tools utilizing Ansible, Python, Jinja2, YAML, etc.
  • Experience overseeing a  managed service provider (MSP) across an international footprint of skilled Network Operations resources in a 24 x 7 on-premise/cloud production environment  
  • Knowledge of common development tools like Git & Jenkins 
  • CCNP Certification
  • CCIE Certification 
  • Strong visionary leadership qualities - able to get others to buy-in and support ideas that may be a new / different approach than they are accustomed to.
  • Strong collaborations skills - demonstrates a willingness to listen to alternatives, but knows when to end debate and move forward.
  • Able to articulate highly technical information in a way that is consumable by both technical and non-technical audiences.
