WHO WE ARE:

The Corporate Finance Department is a small team that works with all parts of Hallmark’s portfolio of companies (Hallmark Global, Crayola, Crown Media, and Crown Center) on a variety of projects. The department is both project-based and also includes recurring work supporting analysis of monthly results and the CFO’s communications to the board of directors and other Hallmark executives. The group is responsible for providing decision support and other analyses in support of the CFO. The team supports corporate decisions as well as maintenance of a broad understanding of financial plans, forecasts and actual results, not only for the portfolio businesses but for the consolidated company. The group is focused on P&L results, cash flow, return on investment and key balance sheet measures.

 

WHAT YOUR ROLE ENTAILS:

The Financial Analyst – Corporate Finance will report to the Corporate Finance Director but will also work with the other members of the team. The day-to-day aspects of this position will vary depending on the time of year and the project load in the department. For example, during preparations for board meetings, this position will be focused on supporting that process. There will also be recurring monthly work to prepared detailed cash flow reporting, review business results, report on corporate spending and variances to plan, analyze consolidated results, and summarize for findings for –various levels of division leadership. Other project activities take place as needed and in support of corporate functions and Hallmark’s portfolio businesses. The position will interact with Accounting & Reporting, Corporate Treasury, Human Resources, Legal, and various other finance executives within the company. It provides the opportunity to work within a professional, and personable team environment.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

The following is required to be considered for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • 1-3 years in finance or accounting

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Comfort in a project-based environment and in dealing with ambiguity
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team and comfort taking direction from multiple sources
  • Aptitude for finance theory
  • Exceptional modeling capabilities in Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly oriented to attention to detail, accuracy and clarity
  • Accounting degree or background preferred
