Licensed content is a key strategic pillar of Hallmark’s product offering across Cards, GPPE, Ornaments and Gifts.  With this comes the responsibility to work with Licensors to track and report royalties and other contractual commitments.  This position is responsible for global reporting of our licensor commitments primarily via licensing specific software (Alliant).  To complete this, the Analyst sets up contracts in the system, run monthly and quarterly actuals, and reviews results against contractual commitments.



The Financial Analyst - Licensing is accountable for:

  • Reporting – determine the monthly royalties earned, and quarterly calculate the royalties and payments owed to our global Licensors.  The analyst must ensure accurate results and ensure the payments are made to licensors in a timely manner.
  • Business Partnership Leadership & Influence – this role interacts closely with many members of the Licensing team (Account Managers, Creative Account Managers, Licensing Business Specialists, Legal, other Licensing Finance members), contacts in subsidiaries around the world, as well as technical experts inside Hallmark, contacts at Licensors and our licensing software vendor (RSS).  Strong verbal and written communication is key to explain needs and influence decisions.
  • Process Orientation & Improvement – there are many connections and areas of engagement in this role.  The ideal candidate will be able to seek out ways to streamline the existing workflows and partner with colleagues to implement them, including recommendations on how to structure new and renewing contracts to maximize value for Hallmark.



This is a progressive role that will be filled at the level based on the skills and experience of the selected candidate. 



The following is required to be considered for this role: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Experience using Excel



Your resume and portfolio/application will stand out if you have: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence partners (internal & external)
  • Knowledge of and ability to navigate SAP, Essbase, other Hallmark Systems (PPS/ARTS), experience dealing with systems integration and testing is an asset
  • Familiarity / experience with SQL
  • Experience working in licensing and ideally using Alliant software
  • Ability to summarize detailed data into a readable format
