The Crown Room is a corporate food services operation that provides high quality meals for the Lawrence Cafe.



The 2nd and 3rd shift Food Prep Specialist II positions will be responsible for high quality standards in our Cafe operation.

  • Responsible for preparing packaged food and hot food production.
  • Assists with production for catering orders.
  • Stocks Micro Mart and merchandises product.  Includes beverages, snacks, grab and go packaged food, condiments, etc.
  • Food production includes preparing recipes, baking, and cold food prep.
  • Provides coverage for other shifts when needed.
  • Custodial work will include sanitizing all customer use areas between break periods, sweeping, mopping, walls, fryers, grill, ovens, surfaces, dish station, empty trash, maintain clean refrigeration and storeroom as assigned.
  • Food production includes preparing recipes, baking, and cold food prep with the highest food safety standards.
  • Assists Culinary Assistant and Food Services Leader with ordering, putting away stock, and menu planning.
  • Responsible for adhering to food cost guidelines.
  • Communicates with shift leadership as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with Health Department regulations at all times. Monitors food temperatures using appropriate temp logs.  Responsible for unused food safety following guidelines on cooling, storing, and labeling all products.
  • Proficient in the use of knives, Hobart mixers, meat slicers, steamer, convection ovens, digital scales, assorted small hand tools, flat grill, deep fryers,  steam tables, and assorted service tools.



The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 1 year food service experience including leadership experience
  • Able to lift 60+ pounds, stand for 8 hours with lunch and breaks, walk 1 mile, push and pull 50 pound carts
  • Knowledge of Health Department food safety standards

  • Can handle exposure to hot foods, steam, and hot appliances on a daily basis.

  • High degree of motivation, conscientiousness, organization, and detail orientation.
  • Must be highly productive, flexible and able to multi-task.
