WHO WE ARE

The Hallmark Crown Room Food Services Department is a high-volume, fast paced, service-focused operation located within Hallmark Headquarters.  We supply breakfast and lunch daily to thousands of employees at Headquarters. We fill catering orders for customers throughout headquarters and occasionally at the plant locations, and we produce a large number of items that are sold in our MicroMarts and Café as “grab and go." These items are sent to the Liberty, Lawrence and  Leavenworth locations as well.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
The Food Service Assistant is responsible for maintaining the Crown Room and Cafe areas.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of food to order during the lunch period, and other high-volume food production responsibilities
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the Crown Room
  • Thoroughly stocking, preparing, and cleaning all work areas
  • Handling customer requests with professionalism
  • Maintaining excellent customer service at all times.
  • Significant walking, standing for long periods
  • Ability to use a variety of foodservice equipment such as coffee makers, cooking utensils, sharp knives, warming ovens
  • Ability to use a wide variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Utilizing cleaning supplies including bleach, Windex, degreaser, and coffee urn cleaner
  • Slight exposure to bleach fumes and other cleaning products while preparing cleaning solutions
  • Exposure to hot foods, steam, and hot appliances on a daily basis
  • Daily exposure to sharp cutting blades
  • Occasional exposure to slippery floors when spills occur and during cleaning
  • Exposure to normal levels of industrial kitchen-related noises

The ideal candidate will work effectively across the production, serving, and custodial teams, and should be willing to perform other duties as assigned.

This is a 1st shift position (5:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday - Friday).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 1+ year of high volume food service/production experience
  • Ability to lift 40+ pounds, stand for 8 hours with lunch and breaks, walk 1 mile, push and pull 50+ pound carts

  • High attention to detail, organization and cleanliness
  • Exceptional delivery of service
  • Barista experience
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers
  • Must work well alone, as well as, with others.
  • Must be highly motivated, conscientious, organized, detail oriented and thorough in quality work standards.
  • Must be highly productive, flexible and able to multi-task.
  • Quick to grasp new positions and good retention of skill learned.
  • Must be able to complete food safety training as required by Health Department.
