Crown Center is a vibrant multi-use complex, which includes retail shops, two hotels, offices and special attractions - an exciting place where people live, work and play.  It is located near the corporate headquarters of Hallmark Cards, Inc. and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

 

 

The Crown Center On-call Ice Rink Attendant monitors and assists customers, ensures customers skate in a safe manner according to the posted rules, and serves as the first point of contact in case of injury.  The On-Call Ice Rink Attendant monitors the surface of the ice, fill in holes, reports problem areas to the Zamboni drivers to ensure a quality skating experience for the customer.  

The On-call Ice Rink Attendant interacts and welcomes customers to the Pro Shop, issue skates, and advise of proper fit and lacing techniques.  The On-call Ice Rink Attendant operates a cash register at the main entrance of the Pro Shop and / or in the concessions area.  The incumbent must be knowledgeable of proper food handling techniques and health department regulations for the concessions area.  The On-call Ice Rink attendant restocks the concessions area, shovel snow and ice around the rink, remove trash and clean tables.

The Ice Terrace is open to the public 7 days a week.

November thru January:

Sunday - Thursday:  10:00am - 9:00pm 

Friday & Saturday:  10:00am - 11:00pm

February & March:

Monday - Thursday:  12:00pm - 9:00pm

Friday:  12:00pm - 11:00pm

Saturday:  10:00am - 11:00pm

Sunday:  10:00am - 9:00pm

On-call Ice Rink Attendants must be flexible and available to work day or evening shifts.  Work schedules will vary between the hours of 9:00 am to midnight through the week and on the weekend.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent OR must be at least 16 years of age and currently working towards a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Customer Service experience or working with the public
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must display a high level of maturity and the ability to handle a variety of situations when working with the public
  • Ability to ice skate
  • Must be able to work in varied temperatures (hot and cold); work around moving machinery; work in a busy, crowded, noisy environment
  • Ability to continuously stand, walk, bend; frequently lift up to 20 pounds

  • The On-call Ice Rink Attendant position is located at Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
  • The Ice Terrace is open to the public 7 days a week.
  • On-call Ice Rink Attendants must be flexible and available to work day or evening shifts. Work schedules will vary between the hours of 9:00 am to midnight during the week and on the weekend.
  • Relocation will not be provided.
