AN OVERVIEW:

The Materials Coordinator has responsibility for the consistent and even flow of construction and activity materials used in Kaleidoscope’s studio.  Kaleidoscope’s success is in great part evaluated by the activities and art materials provided to the children who participate and by Kaleidoscope’s unique appearance.  If there were to be a gap or inadequacy in materials availability or quality, Kaleidoscope and Hallmark’s image would suffer significantly.  The Materials Coordinator works with other staff members to evaluate which projects need to be die-cut on the press. It is then their responsibility to select the proper paper, cut that paper to size, prepare the die-cut press for production, and then operate the press to cut the shapes. Like all Kaleidoscope/HVC employees, the Materials Coordinator is actively engaged with peers in welcoming guests and maintaining the attractions, including Saturday and holiday work. This position reports to the Kaleidoscope Experience Supervisor.

  • The Materials Coordinator makes adjustments and/or corrections on equipment to ensure accuracy and quality. Performs preventative maintenance, alerts necessary personnel when equipment needs service.  Maintains a clean and orderly work area.  Follows appropriate safety procedures and attends safety trainings to ensure safe and correct operation of multiple machines including the power walkie, the industrial paper cutter, the die-cut press, the bow machine, and various shop equipment.
  • Demonstrate outstanding skill in all guest interaction with ultimate regard for Hallmark’s high standard of ethics, caring and penchant for safety.
