AN OVERVIEW:

Application Developer is comfortable working with both back-end and front-end technologies.  They will create, program and test application software for various end users.  S/he will translate software requirements into workable programming code and maintain/develop programs for use within the business. 

 

S/he will also have the responsibility of developing and maintaining Hallmark’s computer-based   applications at a level that ensures the successful operation of Hallmark’s business.  The incumbent will, from time to time, work with analysts from other departments within the IT Organization and the business community in the performance of their duties. 

 

WHO WE ARE:

Order Management Services (OMS) is a collaborative, multi-functional department comprised of seven distinct teams combining efforts to deliver agile logistical solutions enabling retail executional excellence. The OMS “Team of Teams” provides a range of fundamental logistical solutions in support of end-to-end processes linked to fixture and product ordering and installation. 

 

We are responsible for providing support and guidance through the design, development and maintenance of mission critical order management tool and technologies.  OMS plays a key role in helping Hallmark business partners successfully meet their retail execution objectives and its impact is far reaching, both inside the corporation and at retail.  Primary partners include Customer Development, Visual Merchandising, Retail Logistics, Assortment Planning, Marketing, Demand & Inventory Management, Publications, Business Services, Fixtures, Sales, Technology & Business Enablement and Distribution.

 

THE OMS APPLICATION DEVELOPER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Identify, create and define the application requirements.
  • Define application solutions appropriate to customer requirements.
  • Test, code and perform unit test plan for programs assigned.
  • Design and build prototypes and designs.
  • Integrate with 3rd party applications.
  • Define physical program units and data structures.
  • Coordinate with the project team and the customers.
  • Develop and deploy solutions like test plans and application guides.
  • Design and develop complex application systems using advanced technology platforms.
  • Participate and assist in application architecture functions.
  • Recognize the needs of customers, and create new applications that answer those needs.
  • Clearly communicate their ideas to teammates and management.
  • Should be adept in computer languages and have good technical know how
  • Implement high quality systems that support business community needs, meet ongoing service based requirements, and mitigate risk within production based environments.
  • Understand and actively participate in communities of practice within Hallmark, the IT Division, and groups from other companies

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of professional work experience.
  • 2+ years of C#, HTML, and ASP.NET programming experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume will stand out if you have:

  • Working knowledge of one or more programming skills (COBOL, C#, HTML, JavaScript, .VBA, ASP.NET, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Desktop proficiencies (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications abilities.
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Highly motivated and able to influence and lead others
