Hallmark Paper Engineering Interns collaborate with a variety of teams across divisions, leveraging global resources to deliver compelling paper solutions by combining business needs, consumer needs, and creative aspirations with existing and emerging capabilities.

This internship will directly impact the creation of Greetings product. The intern will be responsible for working with the Papercraft and Signature Greetings teams on existing and new product formats by creating inspiration boards, prototyping folded white body paper products, applying 2D graphic design to a 3D folded paper construction, and adjusting or designing new format templates. Additional responsibilities may include creating graphic design intended for a folded paper construction, working with the final product vendors to adjust designs for cost or manufacturability, or researching trends in the paper construction marketplace.

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with a graduation date in August (spring semester) 2021 or earlier.  You must state your targeted graduation date (month and year) on your resume or you will not be considered.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign).


Your resume and portfolio will stand out if you have:

  • A portfolio that showcases your paper construction and prototyping experience.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong research and conceptual skills.
  • Prior internship experience.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of computer software such as CAD, Rhino, and/or SolidWorks.
  • A passion for design and innovation.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Awareness of consumer, technology and design trends.


  • All internships will be at the Hallmark Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. This internship will occur summer of 2018 from May 20th to August 9th (dates may be flexible to accommodate conflicting school calendars).
