Crown Financial Services (CFS) provides financial shared services to Hallmark and its subsidiaries, all of whom are internal customers. Services include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Business Expense, and Payroll. Accuracy, reliability, problem solving, process improvements and efficiencies, and a focus on customer service are critical to our success. The Hallmark Payroll department is responsible for timely and accurate payment of over 20,000 employees in multiple corporations across the US and Canada.  The Payroll Department is a fast paced, deadline driven work environment.  There are always new challenges as we adapt to constantly changing legislation and corporate policies.  We are responsible for maintaining, processing, and distributing wage payments, supplemental wages, employee deductions and payroll taxes in compliance with Hallmark policies and federal, state, and local laws. We provide related information to employees, internal and external customers, and governmental agencies while ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data.


IT, HR and payroll leaders across the Hallmark enterprise are currently participating in the implementation of a new Human Capital Management system (HCM) with a cloud based payroll system. We are looking for a payroll manager to lead the payroll team through this change and into the future state of payroll processing. The Payroll Manager has overall responsibility for effective execution of the payroll process, including coordination of time collection, gross to net calculation, processing and distribution of pay / payslips, payroll taxes, garnishments, W-2's, and payroll accounting / reporting.   


The Payroll Manager leads a team of 10+ to meet payroll obligations in an accurate, timely, and cost effective manner.  This includes coaching and developing direct reports while ensuring a high standard of customer service is maintained within the team. The payroll manger is responsible to ensure a strong internal control structure for payroll processes and that procedures are maintained and updated for key functions.  The Payroll Manager maintains strong business partner relationships with HR Technology, HR Compensation, IT, subsidiary HR/Finance, Tax and external partners. 


Finally, the Payroll Manager serves as a member of the CFS leadership team, charged with understanding payroll strategies to develop and deliver recommendations for improving payroll processes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting/Finance
  • 8+ years business experience 
  • 2+ years of multi-state payroll mgt experience in a mid to large size organization and complexity
  • Team management and supervisory experience 



  • Experience using UltiPro for payroll or another cloud-based payroll system
