The Creative division mock-up studio employs 'Production Designers' with a passion for Hallmark products. They work closely with Designers and Art Director's to translate digital concepts into product representations ranging from digital images to fully-functioning, production-quality samples. Production Designers are also involved in the creation of displays used for 'retail pitch' presentations. Production Designers collaborate with a range of disciplines involved in product development including traffic, marketing, creative, and internal prototyping resources. As with many product development areas, the team is fast paced with tight deadlines and budgets.


The Production Supervisor leads a team of Creative professionals who create digital and physical product representations and displays for customer presentations. They work closely with business partners and team members to meet deadlines and deliverable requirements. The Production Supervisor manages a team of full time Production Designers and contracts with flexible resources as needed to execute programs. Product formats range from Greeting Cards to Gift presentation and stationary products. These products will utilize a wide range of materials and processes (e.g. secondary print processes, laser, plush, jewelry, attachments). He/she will apply extensive knowledge of materials, technology, reproduction techniques, craft and secondary processes, to develop schedules and execution plans that meet our clients’ expectation for quality and deadlines, while also meeting department budget targets. 


The ideal candidate will be a good people leader who pitches in to help their team members. She/He thrives in ambiguity and has a passion for problem solving and process optimization. They understand design processes and are fluent in software as well various prototyping technologies. The incumbent is skilled in overseeing high production volumes and resource planning with the ability to translate both planned and unplanned volume into on-time serviceability to key dates. The Production Supervisor will report to the Creative Resourcing and Mockup Studio Account Manager in Kansas City.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years professional work experience
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proven leadership / people management experience
  • Experience creating efficiencies in work process (e.g. incoming / outgoing quality and waste reduction)
  • Knowledge of print and secondary print processes
  • Knowledge of tools, technology and methods to create 2D and 3D product representations
  • A portfolio that demonstrates experience noted above
