The Project Manager (Technology focused) will effectively and efficiently manage the development sprints from planning to execution to review in agile development environment.  This incumbent will be responsible for daily scrums, managing the product backlog, collaborating on requirement documentation, managing support tickets and unblocking barriers to keep the team moving.  Responsibilities also include managing client implementations and internal business systems projects.

A successful incumbent will be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, demonstrate strong leadership skills and have the desire to be part of a fast-growing organization while influencing our portfolio of products.

Essential Duties and Accountablities

 

  • Facilitate daily stand-up meetings, iteration planning, spring review and iteration retrospective.

  • Manage the development projects and facilitate sprint releases.

  • Create or analyze business requirements and project timelines.

  • Drive team iteration execution, communicate with management and stakeholders, protect the team from uncontrolled injection of work.

  • Manage project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business to keep operations running optimally.

  • Work with the team leads to resolve people problems and project roadblocks.

  • Facilitate post-mortem and root cause analysis to help teams continuously improve practices to ensure maximum productivity.

  • Implement and support principles, rules and processes.

  • Maintain team data in project management software (ex: JIRA) to support estimates and execution.

  • Present high level project readouts for senior management.

  • Support product owner(s) with respect to priorities and scope.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent 
  • Minimum 4 years of project management experience.

  • Minimum 2 years experience leading sprints, demonstrating agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kaban, etc.

  • Understanding the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.

  • Knowledge of Scrum theory, rules and practices.

  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile procedures to predict the development teams’ needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in IT Communications

  • Project Management certification

  • Experience working with Architecture teams to assess and size story/epics

  • Deep understanding of agile metrics (tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories, etc.) to analyze and improve sprint planning.

  • Ability to understand and represent the business and technology
