Who we are… 

The Digital Center of Excellence (DCOE) is the organization within Hallmark Technology that is responsible for: 

  • Building a world-class, consumer-focused caring platform that enables Hallmark’s lines of business (LOB) across the enterprise (Crayola, Crown Media, Hallmark Global) to accelerate their direct-to-consumer product strategies  

  • Developing a Cloud-first, multi-tenant digital platform that provides capabilities and services, such as a unified Hallmark Profile, Product Recommendations, Global Payment services, etc.  

  • Building, securing and operating digital consumer products for Hallmark’s LOBs 

  • Scaling development capabilities to build for Hallmark’s future 

 

As a member of the DCOE group you'll partner with high functioning, high energy teams of cross-functional disciplines that bring products like Hallmark.com and our Hallmark Gold Crown Omnichannel network to life for our consumers. With a consumer-first focus this group delivers impactful digital solutions that have a direct impact on consumer brand engagement and retention in the digital space, which results in revenue growth and brand relevance. 

 

What we’re looking for: 

As a Solutions architect, you’ll partner with Product and Delivery Managers to architect and orchestrate building highly scalable and performant applications.  The DCOE Solutions Architect brings strong leadership and development skills including facilitating change, driving design excellence, code quality standards and striving for continuous improvement.  You will be influential in the overarching technology choices for the program and be a guardian of a world-class customer experience.  With a focus on the consumer, you will help Hallmark understand best practices around advanced hybrid / cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing solutions and processes to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of continuous integration, deployment, and process automation within Hallmark.  

 

What you will be doing: 

As a Solutions Architect and key member of the Solutions Architect team, you will:

  • Ensure success in; building and migrating software and services from existing solutions into scalable, resilient, efficient, and secure solutions.   

  • Lead application architect consultant on development projects; and assistance with solution deployments. 

  • Ensure solutions align with Hallmark Architecture Principles. 

  • Develop process improvements and efficiencies; focus on continuous improvement. 

  • Actively seek ways to build, challenge, and add value within scope of assignments. 

  • Provide technical support, on­-call support and support for escalated trouble tickets. 

  • Produce quality deliverables in a proficient manner. 

  •  Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications: 

  • BS in Computer Science or related technology or technical fields, or 4 years' equivalent experience 

  • 5+ years of experience as an application architect, including analysis, design, and development experience. 

  • 5+ years experience building REST based APIs and services. 

  • 5+ years experience working with Continuous Integration and Deployment tools. 

  • 5+ years experience working with Identity and Access Management solutions. 

  • 2+ years experience work in an Enterprise environment and processes 

  • 2+ years experience working with Enterprise Service Bus and messaging queues 

  • 5+ years experience with application security architecture (JWT, APM, Cloud Infrastructure) 

  • Experience with end-to-end IT software and systems solution delivery from idea conception, design, development and transition into production operations and maintenance 

  • Experience with Agile methodologies 

  • Held a prior role with responsibility for high scalable/available systems architecture, security, and systems support in a heterogeneous infrastructure environment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years experience working with Omnichannel Retail Technologies and E-commerce domains for B2C. 

  • 5+ years experience working with SQL based database technologies

  • Experience delivering Omnichannel technology solutions for a consumer facing retailer and/or CPG company 

  • Expertise with application architecture strategy, governance, compliance, development, and execution 

  • Experience working with API management solutions. 

  • Expertise working with Version Control such as Visual Studio Online, GIT, etc. 

  • Familiar with both SQL and NoSQL technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, Redis. 

  • Experience working with SDLC 

  • Experience working with Cloud Hosting platforms such as Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure. 

  • Experience integrating Application Performance Monitoring solutions such as New Relic or DataDog 

  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins TeamCity, Bamboo, Octopus Deploy, etc 

  • Experience with implementing disaster recovery, capacity planning, monitoring/alerting of availability/performance, and log aggregation and event management systems. 

  • Proficiency in TCP/IP networking architecture and other core network technologies (DNS, HTTP, Routing, Firewalls, Load Balancers, etc.).
