Crown Center, one of the nation’s first mixed-use redevelopments, is an 85-acre complex that welcomes more than five million visitors each year. A subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, Crown Center is a ‘city within a city’ – combining hotel, office, retail, residential and entertainment land uses within its boundaries.



The Installations and Moves department fulfills requests from customers who need office furniture, installation, or office re-designs. The Service Specialist position is responsible for knowing and performing the basic operation of moves and resets to include: performing the necessary tasks to set up modular work stations, move free-standing furniture and move office personnel as requested following work order and blueprint requests, set up conference rooms as well as perform those tasks necessary to operate the furniture warehouse such as filling orders leaving the warehouse and putting back into inventory those items coming back from projects. Receive product as it arrives at the docks and send orders to the different Hallmark plants. Maintaining an accurate inventory count which is kept on the Ariba inventory management system is a necessity. This position involves performing recovery services work and other building services functions as assigned.   



  • Install office modular systems and free-standing furniture systems
  • Move all items that the customer wants moved from one location to another, corporate-wide
  • Help the customer understand what is required to complete the request of moving or setting up an office, schedule the work, and get the proper equipment to the job site
  • Ensure the job is completed promptly, precisely, and in a courteous manner
  • Use measuring tapes and plans to set up according to size regulations
  • Work with the customer concerning the logistics of the project (e.g. – agreement on a scheduled start date, customer's expectations regarding a completion date, follow-up with the customer at the end of the project to ensure all assigned requests were met)
  • Fill orders for in-house projects and requests from Hallmark facilities outside of Kansas City and re-warehouse all products coming back from in-house projects or from outside facilities 
  • Maintain an accurate count of everything in the warehouse and input that information into the Ariba inventory management system
  • Receive and warehouse all incoming new modular or furniture products. Inspect shipments of used material for serviceability. Repair products, if necessary.
  • Perform fabric recovery on modular pieces by covering them with new fabric
  • Other duties as assigned to include but not limited to recovery services work (i.e. – cleaning walls, labeling), and other general building services functions such as snow removal


Additional Details
This is a 1st shift position, Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 2:30pm.  Must be able to obtain a Hallmark license in the operation of walkies and reachforks within six months of being in the position. (License training will be provided.)

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience using a PC or computer
  • Ability to read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and operate power equipment (i.e. - walkies and reach forks). 
  • Ability to constantly move or walk, and push/pull and reach items above shoulder level
  • Ability to move, lift, or carry up to 20 pounds constantly, up to 50 pounds frequently and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to remain stationary and move from one area to the next on concrete most of the day
