At Halls Kansas City, the Shipping/Receiving and Custodial Associate is responsible for the basic operations functions of all Halls, LLC facilities.  The basic operations functions include but are not limited to receiving and handling merchandise, packing and shipping merchandise and daily housekeeping and maintenance. 

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Receives merchandise shipments, checks in merchandise, tickets merchandise accurately against receiving documents/and transports to appropriate area.
  • Gift wraps, make bows, packs and send customer owned merchandise and corporate gifts. This function includes the use of the FedEx machine.
  • Cleans and provides maintenance to Halls facilities which includes the Retail Store, Distribution Center, Warehouse and Administrative Services.
  • Keeps restrooms and breakrooms stocked with supplies, monitors stock levels and makes appropriate notification when supply levels are low.
  • Assist with store functions such as but not limited to special events.

This position requires working with chemicals (i.e. toilet cleaners, glass cleaners, all-purpose cleaners, paint, etc). Must wear protective equipment such as rubber gloves and goggles etc. as needed.

Work Hours vary between 8a.m. to 7p.m. Mon – Sat, Sun 11a.m. to 6p.m., but do include holidays, weekends and evenings (during Holiday season till 9:00 p.m.)

The pay range for this position is $8.16/hr. - $11.33/hr. depending on level of skills and experiences.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • This job requires standing for prolonged periods of time, frequent bending and twisting and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work with chemicals (i.e. toilet cleaners, glass cleaners, all-purpose cleaners, paint, etc).
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment such as rubber gloves and googles, etc. as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • 1 year work experience in the custodial field to include restroom cleaning, trash pick-up, vacuuming, and experience using janitorial power equipment.
