You need a job. You want a career. Working someplace you can be yourself and belong while creating something that makes a difference. Something that makes the world a better place. Perfect timing. Hallmark is looking for someone like you.

Hallmark is in the midst of a data revolution and we need a motivated, talented Senior Data Engineer to join our team.  Hallmark’s mission is to inspire people everywhere “to live a caring, connected life full of meaningful moments”.  We do that by understanding how people connect with those who mean the most to them.

We rely on creative individuals to seek out all meaningful data and use it to inspire people to connect on a deeper level.  That means you are, first and foremost, energized by solving data mysteries—the thought of bringing unknown or unexploited data to the Hallmark environment is a career high.  Of course you also have the basic skills required to make data move: Spark, Python, and SQL.

But we’re looking for someone who brings an inquisitive mind to solve complex data issues.  Your primary goals will be to productionize machine learning models, ingest social media data, and support ongoing data projects.  We’re looking for someone with a proven track record in big data environments who is committed to quickly impacting our Data Engineering practice(~4 years as a data scientist, data engineer, software engineer,, developer, etc.).

The Senior Data Engineer will join a growing team within the Information Technology department at Hallmark.  We are passionate about data and we solve data mysteries for internal and external partners.   We get data to the people who are authorized to access it whenever they want, wherever they are, on whatever device they prefer with their application of choice.

On day one you will be introduced to the Hadoop team and get to work enabling our data scientists as they twist and turn our data into actionable insights.  You should be able to innovate, lead, and drive solutions by using SQL to get data moving, automate data experiments with PySpark, and deliver final results to the organization in Tableau.

Once you've learned about Hallmark's data, you will emerge as a trusted leader and partner on the best ways to ingest new data sources through APIs, leading our deployment of product recommendation engines, and implementing a data catalog.

As you grow into this role, you will help guide the development of Hallmark's data engineering practice.  You will be known not only as an expert practitioner, but also as a leader who helps guide Hallmark into its data future.

Interested? Follow the application instructions below to apply.
