 IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

The Senior Infrastructure Architect will work across the entire organization to expand capabilities, improve efficiency and streamline operations with emphasis on infrastructure, hardware and hosting services; both cloud and on-premise solutions.  The senior infrastructure architect will ensure scalability and anticipate capacity growth through careful planning and awareness of industry trends.  They are responsible for aligning technology architecture with business portfolios, external research and strategy development. Delivers and ensures architectural direction and compliance that is practical, achievable and meets the business needs.  This role will be focused on designing a roadmap to modernize and rationalize the current infrastructure, setting standards, design and implementation of core infrastructure solutions, and working with enterprise architecture, security architecture and application design teams on proper design, validation, and implementation of their solutions.  This includes a strategic plan that clarifies the current state, establishes a forward-looking future direction, and the roadmap to get there.  The role requires impeccable communication skills that bridge gaps between technical groups and business leaders including executive management.

 The Senior Infrastructure Architect will be part of the Enterprise Architecture team with a dotted line to the VP of Technology & Digital Workplace Services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR  mininum of 7 years of experience in a production IT environment architecting enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware and hosting services
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with AWS or Azure hosting and services
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrate experience (3–5 years) with integration of cloud services (specifically Azure and AWS) with on-premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP etc.
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Your resume will stand out if you have:

  • MBA
  • Architecture frameworks (Zachman, TOGAF, EACOE, IASA)
  • Cloud solution architect accreditation (AWS/Azure)
  • Large scale migration experience Data Center to Data Center and/or Data Center to Cloud
  • Experience managing data center operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications
  • Experience engaging with security and operations to ensure that cloud adoption is managed in line with organization standards
  • Experience driving cloud architecture and design approaches with organization wider organization architectural goals

 

Technical Expertise:

  • Ability to write architectural design documents or review design documents provided by others
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs
  • Proven experience and understanding of architecture principles across infrastructure platforms, security, data, integration and applications layers
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the Windows concepts, Domains, Active Directory and its concepts, and the interaction between hardware, operating systems, network, data center, and application software
  • Knowledge of cloud automation tools and approaches
  • Knowledge of advanced security technologies and controls
  • Knowledge of network topology and associated technologies
  • Knowledge of systems monitoring, capacity planning and performance tuning
