AN OVERVIEW:

The Digital Center of Excellence (DCOE) is the organization within Hallmark Technology that is responsible for: 

  • Building a world-class, consumer-focused caring platform that enables Hallmark’s lines of business (LOB) across the enterprise (Crayola, Crown Media, Hallmark Global) to accelerate their direct-to-consumer product strategies  
  • Developing a Cloud-first, multi-tenant digital platform that provides capabilities and services, such as a unified Hallmark Profile, Product Recommendations, Global Payment services, etc.  
  • Building, securing and operating digital consumer products for Hallmark’s LOBs 
  • Scaling development capabilities to build for Hallmark’s future 

 

As a member of the DCOE group you'll partner with high functioning, high energy teams of cross-functional disciplines that bring products like Hallmark.com and our Hallmark Gold Crown Omnichannel network to life for our consumers. With a consumer-first focus this group delivers impactful digital solutions that have a direct impact on consumer brand engagement and retention in the digital space, which results in revenue growth and brand relevance. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Front-End Solutions Architect within the DCOE group you'll partner with high functioning and high energy cross-functional teams which bring products for Hallmark.com and Hallmark Gold Crown Omnichannel network to life for our consumers.  Our focus is consumer-first digital solutions impacting consumer engagement and retention.  The goals of the team are driving revenue growth and brand relevance. 

 

As a Front-End Solutions Architect, you’ll partner with Product and Delivery Managers to architect and orchestrate building highly scalable and performant applications.  The DCOE Solutions Architect brings strong leadership and development skills including facilitating change, driving design excellence, code quality standards and striving for continuous improvement.  You will be influential in the overarching technology choices for the program and be a guardian of a world-class customer experience.  With a focus on the consumer, you will help Hallmark understand best practices around advanced hybrid / cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing solutions and processes to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of continuous integration, deployment, and process automation within Hallmark.  

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

As a Solutions Architect with focus in Front End and key member of the Solutions Architect team, you you’ll be combining technology and design to create inviting, easy-to-use websites and web applications for Hallmark’s consumers. To fulfill your responsibilities, you’ll need to be able to provide the following day-to-day duties: 

  •  Work with project stakeholders, XD (Experience Design) and Architects from various disciplines to provide solutions for the overall look and design of a website 
  • Deliver front end solutions with intuitive user interfaces and experiences on various front-end technologies. Our front-end technology stack includes React, NodeJS, Javascript, Angular and HTML/CSS. 
  • Ensure our front-end solutions meet the criteria of performance, accessibility and quality
  • Understand PWA Architectural Patterns including both SSR and CSR styles with focus on eCommerce
  • Champion with front end focused analytics tools such as Lighthouse to inform areas of focus needed for various product feature teams
  • Ensure solutions align with Hallmark Architecture Principles. 
  • Develop process improvements and efficiencies; focus on continuous improvement. 
  • Actively seek ways to build, challenge, and add value within scope of assignments.
  • Provide technical support, on­-call support and support for escalated trouble tickets. 
  • Produce quality deliverables in a proficient manner. 
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support. 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • BS in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a Solutions Architect in frontend development
  • Minimum 5 years professional front-end programming experience
  • At least 4 years of experience with three or more of the following languages/frameworks: 
    • React 
    • Redux 
    • Angular 
    • Ember 
    • Bootstrap 
    • HTML/CSS 
    • JavaScript 
    • JQuery 
  • Experience developing web applications using functional components 
  • Knowledge of website design principles and best practices 
  • Knowledge of SEO optimization 
  • Experience with multiple user interface (UI) technologies such as Angular, React, JavaScript or HTML/CSS 
  • Experience developing webapps using a Micro Frontend architecture 
  • Experience working with Service-oriented architecture (SOA) environments, microservices, and REST APIs 
  • Experience in scaling applications 
  • Familiarity with performance tuning applications with tools like Google Lighthouse 
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) 
  • Excellent communication skills 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume and application will stand out if you have:

  • Experience developing UI components using Storybook 
  • Experience working with Node Package Manager 
  • Experience mitigating security vulnerabilities 
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in application/technology migrations.
  • Possess the ability to connect technology with measurable business value.
  • Have demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
