Tax is a complex and broad function that covers direct and indirect taxes and includes planning, compliance and financial reporting, business support, and transfer pricing with many stakeholders at global, federal, state and local levels. The Tax department focuses in key factors such as costs, risks, efficiency and effectiveness and deals with past, present and future issues to create and preserve value for Hallmark.

 

As part of Finance, Tax stays connected to the business and aligns with other functions to provide the right information and to meet common goals keeping in mind the business needs and the practicality of getting things done.

 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

The Tax Analyst will be primarily responsible for federal, state, and local income tax compliance for Hallmark Cards and subsidiaries and to support tax exams, tax planning and tax accounting:

  • Prepare income tax returns and reports for domestic and foreign subsidiaries.
  • Analyze financial data
  • Calculate tax assets and liabilities for accounting records and reconciling G/L accounts
  • Comply with foreign vendor withholding requirements and reporting (W-8s/1042/1042-S)
  • Assist with federal and state tax audits
  • Research and draft technical memorandums
  • Support tax planning, special projects, and other assignment as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ year's experience in a CPA firm or corporate tax department
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Teams and Excel

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume will stand out if you have:

  • Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance or CPA certificate
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good self-starter, works autonomously and collaborates with the team
  • Be deadline and results driven
  • Balance work assignments and juggle more than one project at a time
  • Experience with tax preparation software (CorpTax) and familiar with tax research tools.
  • Proficient with SAP and other system skills
