Hallmark’s Experience Design (XD) Team is responsible for designing user-centered experiences to unify Hallmarks touchpoints that is focused on achieving our CX Vision of being the trusted, go-to source of Caring Connectors helping them to build, grow, and deepen their relationships and herself. As a member of the group you'll partner with a cross-discipline team of user experience, user interface, research, content and development professionals to create exceptional, user-centered digital experiences that drive business growth, consumer satisfaction and brand loyalty.


The UX Design Operations Lead is responsible for facilitating the creation process within and surrounding the Experience Design team. This role provides operational and strategic support to ensure the Experience Design team is delivering work seamlessly and efficiently. In addition, the Design Ops Manager/Leader plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence related to the management and optimization of Hallmarks Design System.      

  1. Day-to-day support for the Experience Design (XD) Team
    1. Provide support for # designers across multiple workstreams.
    2. Schedule and lead ceremonies including sprint planning and stand up.
    3. Schedule design reviews; capture stakeholder feedback and action items.
    4. Schedule and plan feature design workshops; capture business requirements and action items
    5. Report on work progress to stakeholder and leadership teams
    6. Write + maintain Jira tickets for team.
  1. Process and workflow creation and optimization
    1. Work intake
      1. Establish intake process, documentation, resource planning as requests come in
      2. Partner with requesters to gather relevant information for the request, work with team to provide estimates/timing and report back to the requestor
      3. Help maintain a design backlog that reflects roadmap priorities
      4. Work with Product Owners to coordinate design activities / needs in relation to feature development
      5. Work with Content team (BCS) to coordinate design activities / needs in relation to content development
    2. Team standards and process
      1. Contribute to internal team standards and processes: templates, process development, team metrics, workflow, etc  
      2. Develop onboarding curriculum for new team members as org continues to scale
  1. Design System management and governance
    1. Establish processes and ceremonies for Design System team
    2. Establish and communicate governance process and standards for the Design System team
    3. Facilitating communication between Design System team and Digital Product Squads

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree OR 4 years of professional work experience

5+ years of previous experience working with digital program management, digital production, design op and/or design program management.


Preferred Qualifications

Strong organizational, facilitation and leadership skills as applied to working with digital/product design teams

Ability to take complex problems, simplify and drive action
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills – excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills. Ability to deliver information in a clear, concise way, ensuring the organization makes rapid and informed decisions
Strong teamwork and people skills – ability to work collaboratively and effectively across discipline, role, department and leadership level.
Be autonomous. Self-starter who takes full ownership of their work, all the way through the process. Delivers work on time with a high attention to detail.
Agile-mindset – flexible, adaptable, iteratively focused, ability to break work down into small pieces of work
Growth mindset – willingness to learn about disciplines and skills that are related to the experience discipline in order to broaden their understanding (tools, usablity, Agile, Customer Experience, related development skills, content strategy, eCommerce, Omnichannel Retail, etc.)
