The Supply Chain Training & Development Manager will analyze and assess business & technical  process training needs within the Kansas Manufacturing Plants, translating those needs into actionable training initiatives.  This position will report directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, tracking and reporting of employee training programs in the business. 

 

This key role manages the strategy, execution, and delivery of training programs across the business for the Kansas Manufacturing Plants in Lawrence and Leavenworth.  The selected incumbent will be responsible for the delivery of plant-wide initiatives that drive the business’s growth strategies.  The incumbent must have a love of efficiency and a willingness to champion organizational change. 

  1. Collaborate with plant staff and management to develop, implement and sustain a standardized training program for the Kansas Manufacturing plants.  Implement and sustain subsequent learning strategies and objectives, ensuring that the plant, and business at large, is constantly updated with industry trends and best practices.
  2. Develop and evaluate training methods and initiatives and measuring their effectiveness, bringing forth strategic recommendations for training and staffing approaches where necessary. 
  3. Provide logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurements, and cost management.
  4. Respond to training requests from Lean Manager, Production Manager and HR Manager to which training is delivered on time and within the requested budget.  Build solid cross-functional relationships.
  5. Develop program for trainers.  This ensures assessment and proficiency as a trainer before moved into that role.  Manage performance of trainers to ensure quality instruction is provided to employees at all levels.
  6. Link with HR/Talent Development on corporate strategies for training at all levels to ensure the business goals and objectives align and are met.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in training and facilitation, with excellent demonstrated expertise at engaging adult learners across all levels
  • Five (5) or more  years of Leadership experience
  • Two (2)  or more years of experience proactively working both independently and collaboratively working with large and small group settings  to drive capability growth and accountable for organization-wide development results. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Training and Development, or other related field
  • Five (5) or more years of experience  developing or leading an overall training strategy in a manufacturing environment or complex business setting.
  • Experience in organization development
  • Leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution or other supply chain environment
  • Excellent analytical ability with strong proficiency in MS office suite - including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • CPTM certification
  • Prior instructional design and curriculum development experience
  • Strong collaboration.influence, coaching and change management skills
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
