AN OVERVIEW:

The Lean Strategy and Implementation Leader (LSIM) is the Lean subject matter expert (SME) for Leavenworth who will lead strategic and operational efforts to realize, sustain and extend investments made in business process initiatives.  The LSIM develops lean process management capabilities and embeds practices that yield immediate and long term consumer and financial benefits for Hallmark.  In collaboration with the Plant Manager, the LSIM is responsible for enabling the plant personnel and key business partners with process-centric behaviors to deliver reliable and predictable business results.  The LSIM teaches and coaches all levels of Hallmark employees to create a Lean business system and problem solving culture. To ensure standard work and success on implementation deliverables, the LSIM influences and collaborates with multiple partners and process owners. This includes driving end to end process management and standard work within the supply chain and with applicable business partners.  The LSIM is responsible for improving results and driving cost savings by proactively identifying areas for improvement, managing lean initiatives and projects, utilizing lean tools and techniques, analyzing and reporting key metrics, communicating continuous improvement activities, and training team members to accomplish the same. The LSIM must be an advocate for building a lean culture in the plant and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of process management or Lean experiences
     

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume will stand out if you have:

  • Experience in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Completed Lean and/or problem solving training/coursework (must be listed on your resume, cover letter, or in the application fields)
  • Experience facilitating discussions and/or meetings
  • Excellent communication and partnering skills
  • Master's Degree
  • Working experiences in a lean manufacturing role within an industrial setting
  • Lean application experience and/or Lean certification is preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate disciplined approach to root cause problem solving (ex. A3s)
  • Experience building a Lean business system
  • Broad business acumen including strategic thinking skills and consumer/customer understanding skills; organizational and strategic agility
  • Process understanding and applied cross-functional leadership experiences
  • Consistently strong history of executing to business-valued results and team-led accomplishments through leadership, influence, organizational skills and problem solving (vision, clarity, and courage)
  • Process management skills, including prioritization skills, drive for results, and managing vision and purpose
  • Interpersonal savvy, conflict management skills, and the ability to lead and motivate others
  • Must be passionate about problem solving and have the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Strong knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, work flow, etc.
  • The ideal candidate will be an intellectually curious, humble learner and will have the ability and desire to request feedback to reflect/act upon in order to continue learning and developing skills.
