The Lean Strategy and Implementation Specialist role is responsible for championing, teaching and execution of Lean Process to drive process improvement and sustainability throughout the Leavenworth Production plant.   The Lean Strategy & Implementation Specialist (LSIS) relies on Lean principles and rules, making extensive use of various Lean tools to develop lean process management capabilities throughout manufacturing. 


This position will:

  • Develop and champion Lean strategy that supports corporate and plant priorities, aligning with business needs.
  • Collaborate to drive process design and improvement across functional areas and end to end processes to support business growth and sustainment.
  • Use Lean methodologies, facilitate kaizen events to document current state, ideal future state and gaps between the two; develop implementation plan to move from current to ideal to realize business targets.
  • Use a disciplined approach to problem solving (plan-do-check-act:  identification and break-down of business problems, identification and analysis of potential solutions to solve for root cause, implement and evaluate solutions.
  • Collaborate with process ownership teams and participants (all levels – end to end from plant to corporate) that represent cross-divisional functions and end-to-end processes for Hallmark.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years professional experience
  • 3+ years of process management or Lean Experience
  • 2 years formal and/or informal training and application of Lean philosophy & methodologies.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed Lean and/or problem solving training/coursework (must be listed on your resume, cover letter, or in the application fields)
  • Excellent communication and partnering skills
  • Working experiences in a lean manufacturing role within an industrial setting
  • Lean application experience and/or Lean certification is preferred
  • Experience with implementing training practices, preferably Training Within Industry (TWI) or similar program
  • Ability to demonstrate disciplined approach to root cause problem solving (ex. A3s)
  • Process understanding and applied cross-functional leadership experiences
  • Process management skills, including prioritization skills, drive for results, and managing vision and purpose
  • Must be passionate about problem solving and have the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Strong knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, work flow, etc.
  • The ideal candidate will be an intellectually curious, humble learner and will have the ability and desire to request feedback to reflect/act upon in order to continue learning and developing skills.


This posiiton is located in Leavenworth, Kansas.  Relocation is not provided.
