The Hallmark Medical department plays a key role in supporting the business and the employees by:


  • Promoting the health and wellbeing of our employees with programs, services and coaching. 
  • Providing on-site support for OSHA compliance and in the event of work related injuries or medical emergencies
  • Encouraging and supporting employees in their engagement in health and wellbeing by eliminating barriers to getting important health care (blood pressure checks, flu shots, lab draws, screening, physical therapy, etc)
  • Supporting the effective use of Hallmark resources through active case management of disability and leave programs; return to work accommodations, enabling people to come back to work (moms’ room); and leveraging data to build programs to address health needs of our population. 


This Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) position works 3 days a week in Kansas City and two days per week in Hallmark's Leavenworth location working with Hallmark employees to provide professional nursing assessments including evaluation of personal medical concerns, vaccinations, lab draws, health coaching and wellness activities.  This position will also periodically work in our Lawrence or Liberty locations providing support when the assigned nurse is absent.



The OHN will be responsible for handling patient health needs. These duties will include:

  • Assess and treat personal and work-related injuries and illnesses per protocol, and refer patients to a higher level of care when needed
  • Respond to workplace and patient emergencies
  • Case manage occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses and disability management using approved nursing protocols and medical directives
  • Administrate injections per protocol or procedure
  • Facilitate drug screens
  • Maintain and oversee confidential patient records
  • Provide health-related counseling for employees within the scope of nursing knowledge and practice
  • Perform and report on health screenings and follow-ups, within the context of corporate wellness programs
  • Protect patients and co-workers by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Keep complete, accurate and confidential records on patients
  • This is a full-time position

  • Registered Nurse with Kansas OR  Missouri licenses
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing

  • Registered Nurse with Kansas and Missouri Licenses
  • Certified Occupational Health Specialist OR 2 years' occupational  health  experience 
  • Background in wellness education
  • Background in case management
  • Three years clinical experience
  • Known and respected for confidentiality
  • Email, Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint skills
