WHO WE ARE:

The Hallmark Liberty Distribution Center provides for the planning and execution of product shipments to Hallmark retailers. The distribution center focuses on supplying the necessary products to all of Hallmark retailers in a cost efficient and timely manner. This includes scheduling and planning of all product lines and their fulfillment activities across a variety of Hallmark customers. Building strong relationships with internal and external partners ensure that speed to market and flawless execution at the retail level are among our highest priorities.

 

This position is eligible for a $500 Sign On bonus ($250 on 31st day and $250 on 91st day)

 

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) Coordinator is responsible for assisting the EHS Administrator in supporting the environmental, health, and safety system at the Liberty Distribution Center and off-site warehouses.  This role will focus on taking on projects and assignments to strengthen the EHS system, develop ownership and awareness of EHS in departments, reduce accidents, and improve plant compliance with applicable regulations. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Using knowledge of applicable regulations, research and develop EHS training needs for multiple departments.  Work with multiple departments to develop processes and determine what is needed for EHS training documentation, PPE, timeline for recertification, and how to sustain future training for specific roles. Track training attendance for all new hires (i.e. Hallmark and third party staffing)
  • Support accident investigations by aiding managers with the process, the form, and answering questions.  Occasionally attend safety stand-up meeting to discuss root causes found and corrective actions taken, as well as engage both the manager and the person(s) involved in the accident in problem-solving to improve the process and prevent future accidents.  Ensure managers are including all needed information on electronic reports by reviewing cases.  Provide feedback to managers if information is missing, tracking trend to help improve investigation training.
  • Using knowledge of Microsoft Office products, create charts or trend data for tracking waste and recycling efforts, or PowerPoint presentations for department training.  Report to Corporate or update Liberty Safety home page using Sharepoint. 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • An associate degree in an EHS related role OR two years of professional experience in an EHS related role.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Microsoft office suite (word, excel, and PowerPoint)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume and application will stand out if you have:

  • 4+ years of EHS related work experience or Bachelor’s Degree in EHS
  • Environmental or safety related experience with OSHA, DOT, EPA regulations and application in a work-place environment. 
  • Comfortable with speaking/presenting to groups of people. 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties based on deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork, flexibility and cooperation skills.
  • Flexible and open to change in order to meet business needs.

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Hallmark Liberty Distribution Center is located approximately 20 minutes north of downtown Kansas City, Missouri in Liberty, Missouri. Relocation will not be provided. 
  • The EHS Coordinator role is a 1st shift opportunity. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
  • This position consists of both an office setting and some physical work such as inspections, climbing, being outdoors, and other environmental sampling.
  • Position may involve exposure to safe concentrations of chemicals.
